The Madison Area Aquatic Hobbyists is proud to announce our first weekend event: FALL FISH FEST - 2011

This event will include:
* box sales of livestock
* vendor tables
* raffles
* speakers
* pizza party/hospitality suite w/keynote presentation of The Breeders Challenge by Mike Hellweg and Ted Judy
* livestock auction on Sunday

WANT TO GET IN FOR FREE????
Our speaker lineup will be a little different. We do have keynote speakers (Mike Hellweg, Matt Pederson & Ted Judy), but we want to fill out the schedule with mini-talks from YOU. If you are willing to give a 20-minute presentation on an aquarium topic, we will give you a weekend pass with pizza party for the event. For more information, please contact Ted Judy at tjudy@tedsfishroom.com . We need to have the lineup in place by mid-September, so if you want to be a part of the fun please act fast.

We would love to have a few reef-specific mini talks to help support the program being given by Matt Pederson. We also have some sponsors lined up who will donate some marine aquarium equipment if we can demonstrate that the event will draw marine hobbyists. We have space to do a frag swap too. It would be very cool if MARS were to join us for this event!

We are still hoping to find a couple people who want to give a mini-talk on marine topics. Matt Pederson will be here to give a full presentation, and it would be nice to have a couple talks to support his. We also have plenty of space for frag sellers who would like a table. We really want the Fall Fish Fest to be a weekend for all the aquarium hobbyists in the Madison and surrounding areas to be a part of. I need some help promoting the event to reef/marine hobbyists... any help would be appreciated.

IMPORTANT!!!!!

We have changed the costs of attending the Fall Fish Fest. Anyone who has already pre-registered and paid will get a partial refund when you check in at the event. The new price structure can be seen in detail at http://madisonaquatichobby.com/fall_fish_fest/.

Attending the Fall Fish Fest is now more affordable, so we hope to see EVERYONE there. SPREAD THE WORD!!!

Two quick reminders...

1) Today is the last day to reserve a room at the hotel at the $59.00 rate.

2) Box Sales.... this is a great way to come to an event and sell fish without having to sit at a table or in your room all day. The system works like this... You will submit bags to the Box Sale just like you would submit them to an auction, but you get to set the price for the bag. Buyers purchase fish from the box sale and our staff will handle the money (just like an auction). The club will get it's normal auction split ($1 + 20%), and the check will be mailed to you along with all auction seller checks the week after the fest. At the end of the box sale the sellers has the choice of removing all their unsold bags or leaving the bags for the auction on Sunday. If the bags are entered into the auction the price on the bag is no longer valid. The event staff will take care of any rebagging needed for the fish to carry over to Sunday's auction.
